Message to LMU Staff
Dear Colleagues,
With our students’ return to campus for the 2026-27 academic year comes a renewed sense of energy and a tangible reminder of our shared purpose: to form persons for and with others and propel them into lives of meaning and service.
I saw this commitment embodied firsthand throughout move-in weekend and the first week of classes. Our inaugural Mane Movers–nearly 200 students, faculty, and staff–volunteered their time to welcome students and families into the LMU community. Wellness Wednesday returned in full force, as did our Lion Student-Athletes.
Behind these new traditions and beloved programs are each of you. Our staff exemplifies cura personalis, that foundational Jesuit value of care for the whole person. Through your talent, dedication, and collaboration, you steward a university where academic and cocurricular excellence abound.
Whether you have been at LMU for two years or twenty, whether your work focuses on student life, beautifying our campus, or strengthening our technological infrastructure, thank you for your commitment to our Jesuit and Marymount mission. I look forward to the year ahead as we share in more Wellness Wednesdays, Lion Athletics matches, and cherished LMU celebrations like Alumni Weekend and Family Weekend.
As COO John Kiralla shared, I also want to take this opportunity to extend my congratulations to the newly elected Staff Senate Executive Board members. Many thanks to you and all our amazing staff senators for your willingness to serve our staff community in these leadership roles.
One of the great joys of this role is hearing the multitude of stories that comprise our vibrant community. If you see me around campus, please never hesitate to say hello.
Go Lions!

Estimados colegas,
¡Vamos, Leones!
