Introducing President Snyder

I am pleased to present Timothy Law Snyder, president of Loyola Marymount University. President Snyder has been a dedicated professor and administrator at Jesuit universities for 30 years. He earned his M.A. and his Ph.D. in applied and computational mathematics from Princeton University. He also has an M.S. in mathematics, a B.A. in psychology, and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Toledo. President Snyder’s academic and research interests include: computational mathematics, data structures, design and analysis of algorithms, geometric probability, digital signal processing, airline flight safety, HIV diagnosis and prevention, and the education of the Millennial Generation.

Under President Snyder’s leadership, LMU envisions itself as the definitive center for global imagination and its impacts. Guided by our university mission, President Snyder challenges our university to maximize its global impact, to leverage its creativity, and to develop new opportunities for interdisciplinarity. He advocates for increasing LMU’s reputational capital by expanding its visibility on the world stage. His dynamic and forward-thinking style inspires and propels our community to pursue new heights of undeniable excellence.
